Grilling Out

The temperatures are finally starting to warm up in Atlanta. Time to break out the grill.  I don't eat red meat, but my husband loves a good burger. To try and satisfy both our tastes I try to get creative with the turkey burgers. Going pretty traditional tonight though.

Turkey Burgers
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
1/4 lb turkey italian sausage
1 egg (beaten)
1 small onion finely chopped or grated
1/2 tsp salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Wosterchire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix with your hands (wash them first, kids!)
2. Form into 4-6 patties (I like to make them about 1/2 thick, but that is totally up to your liking)
3. Throw on the grill and cook med-high heat for about 20-25 minutes, turning once. Internal temp should read 165 degrees.
4. Top with whatever kind of cheese you like (going with Monterray Jack tonight) and serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Serve with your favorite sides, tonight we are having portobello mushroom fries and Isralie cous cous salad. Recipes to follow.
